Illustrative closed steel garage concept in warm Australian landscaping

YOUR SHED. YOUR BUILD PLAN.

DIY shed kits

Choose a steel shed kit around your vehicles, storage and workspace. Arrange construction with the right people for your project.

Kit-only supply. Concrete, installation, vehicles and fit-out are arranged separately.

A kit tailored to your plans

The hero is a concept illustration, not a supplied design or a dimensional specification. Final design, materials and inclusions are confirmed in your written quote.

Choose the space you need

Explore single, double, triple and multi-bay garages, workshops and carports. Start with what needs to fit, then discuss the footprint, openings and finish.

Allow for open vehicle doors, storage, benches and a clear route, not just the parked vehicle.

Concept layout, not to scale. Confirm usable internal dimensions, clear opening width and height, and final opening positions with the team. Equipment, benches, storage and fit-out are arranged separately.

Measure vehicles and equipment, including the room needed to open doors and use them. Allow separate space for storage, benches and a clear route through the building.

Check clear openings and usable internal space, rather than relying on overall building dimensions. Share the site address, intended use and any access constraints with the team.

Garages

Plan bays around your vehicles, opened doors and everyday access. Allow separate space for storage rather than filling every metre with parking.

Workshops

Set out benches, equipment and a clear route through the space. Tell the team about intended equipment loads and any proposed fit-out before design.

Carports

Choose covered parking where an open-sided layout suits your needs. Discuss exposure, access and the relationship to nearby buildings.

Two starting points for your design

These existing examples show different layouts in the DIY range. They are customisable examples, not standard packages or promises of vehicle fit.

Triple garage

Triple garage

Separate roller-door access across three bays.

Listed length: 9 m
Listed height: 2.5 m

These labels reproduce the existing example. Confirm orientation, the height reference, clear door openings and usable internal dimensions in your design. The photograph is not a measured drawing.

Garage with enclosed side space

An example to discuss when you want parking alongside enclosed storage or workspace.

Listed span: 7 m
Listed length: 12 m
Listed height: 2.7 m

These dimensions are listed for the existing example. Confirm orientation, the height reference, door clearance and layout with the team. The photograph does not establish internal partitions or fit-out.

Make the kit work for your site

Plan the doors around vehicle access, storage and how you will use the space.

Concept illustrations, not to scale or engineered designs. Confirm roof shape, opening sizes, materials, availability and suitability for your selected design. Options are included only when specified in your written quote.

Discuss the building footprint, bays, roller doors and personnel access around your intended use. Check clear openings and usable internal space, rather than relying on overall building dimensions.

The DIY range lists COLORBOND® or ZINCALUME® options, with Trimclad or Corodek sheeting profiles. Confirm the selected materials and available options for your design in the written quote.

Provide the site address and intended use. Engineer-certified drawings are specific to the site and wind region. The building design must account for the relevant site conditions; there is no single wind rating that applies to every kit.

The kit, and the work around it

Kit-only supply gives you the building components and documentation. It does not include an installed building.

Choose who will build it

Buying a DIY kit does not mean you must assemble it yourself. You can arrange a suitable local installer, or consider owner-building where permitted and appropriate for your project.

Check the requirements that apply to your state or territory, project and circumstances with the relevant authority. Buying a kit does not establish eligibility, remove permit requirements or replace safe-work planning. Discuss the design with suitable trades before committing to the construction approach.

Use the final engineering and approved design when arranging the slab and footings. Give your installer the actual specifications, site access details and lifting requirements so their quote covers the work needed.

Tell the team about narrow gates, steep driveways, soft ground or other access constraints. Confirm freight, delivery access, unloading and storage arrangements for your location.

Read about installation options in the Help Centre.

KNOW YOUR MATERIALS

Australian BlueScope steel

The DIY range uses Australian BlueScope steel. Confirm the materials for the frame, roof and walls in your written specification.

Compare the framing, sheeting, fixings, openings, site-specific engineering and complete inclusions. Check the delivered price and the work you need to arrange separately.

DIY shed kit questions

The existing examples are customisable. Discuss the dimensions, openings and intended use with the team, subject to site requirements and engineering.

No. You can arrange a suitable local installer. Owner-building is an option only where permitted and suitable for the project. Kit-only supply excludes construction labour.

Approval requirements depend on the location and project. Check with your council or certifier before ordering. Site-specific drawings support the process but do not guarantee approval.

The design, size, openings, selected materials and delivery location affect your quote. Request a written quote and include the separately arranged site works, concrete, labour and fit-out in your project budget.

Send the site address, intended use, approximate dimensions, preferred doors and finish, plus any access constraints. If you are unsure about size, explain what needs to fit and how you will use the space.
